Calendar

David Owen is the Meets/Trip coordinator, assisted by the rest of the committee. We will usually have trips for the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month. One Tuesday will usually be a mine and the other a cave.

Members are informed of the meet points by email during the week before the event. We do not give precise locations on the calendar to prevent non members putting themselves at risk or causing damage to the site or our reputation. We hope you understand. Tuesday trips start at 7.30pm. Arrive 7pm to 7.15 ish to be ready on time. We ask members to respond to the original sender of the email if they want to attend.

Full or Temporary Membership
If you are not a member yet, or you want to try exploring underground, or you are visiting the area and want to attend a trip, then your best option is to become a temporary member for just £12 (an utter bargain compared to going underground with a commercial company.) This gives you up to 4 “Easy” trips, plus the lend of a helmet and lamp. Your £12 can then go towards full membership if it is within 3 months of your first trip. (P.S. Cavers with BCA membership elsewhere can visit us for free. Please contact us via the Join Us page first.)

Full membership runs until the end of December 2026 for just £48, including membership of the British Caving Association (BCA) which provides you with 3rd party insurance – An absolute bargain. Please get in touch on our Join Us page, letting us know which trip(s) you want to go on.

Wednesday 18th February 7.30  Annual General Meeting at the Pengelly Centre, Buckfastleigh.

After that, there will normally be a trip on the first and third Tuesday evening of each month. However, with a sudden surge of new members, we will probly be putting on extra and repeat trips, plus wekend and away trips.

A recent Saturday trip was very popular, so we would be open to suggestions for a Saturday or Sunday.

July 1   Chudleigh Rock Caves, North side, e.g. Chudleigh Cavern, Little Africa, etc. All the caves are max 20 min long, but there are many of them. Leader Richard.

Tue 15 Apr - Pridhamsleigh: Deep Well & return via Cellars + maybe in via rift, plus mystery pool. A change from the usual trip to the lake. (Was a short notice change.)
Tue 1 Apr - Wolfram/tungsten mine about seven miles north of Liskeard. Mixed difficulty with steep climb down at the entrance and thigh high water on the way out. Leader: Dave W.
Tue 18 Mar - The Crystal Corridor and Cat Crawl in Bakers Pit Cave, Buckfastleigh. Fairly easy except for the optional crawl at the end. Leader: Colin.
Tue 04 Mar - Three mines in the Walkham Valley, Led by Dave Warne.
Wed 19 Feb  AGM followed by committee meeting
Tue 04 Feb  Prihamsleigh. Usually easy, though may explore some lesser accessed areas. £1.50 to the farmer for access. Leader: Colin B.
Tue 21 Jan  Large micacious haematite mine near Hennock. Was used for battleship paint. Fairly easy.
