Pyrenees trip planned for September!

Iain Moor is now the trip organiser, assisted by a couple of other people. We will usually have trips for the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month. One Tuesday will usually be a cave and the other a mine. We now have trips planned up to the end of March 2024, plus a trip to the French Pyrenees, via Santander, Spain, in September.

Members are informed of the meet points by email during the week before the event. We do not give precise locations on the calendar to prevent non members putting themselves at risk or causing damage to the site or our reputation. We hope you understand. Tuesday trips start at 7.30pm. Arrive 7pm to 7.15 ish to be ready on time. We ask members to respond to the email if they want to attend.

If you are not a member yet, but want to attend a trip, then please get in touch with us on our Join Us page where we can arrange temporary membership for a small fee.

2023 was PCG’s 60th Anniversary. We have had special events including anniversary trips, dinner with current and former members at The Dartbridge Inn and social at Pengelly. We also produced an anniversary teeshirt and hoodie!

SRT TRAINING
Possibly over spring or summer, depending on demand.
Trip to Derbyshire Caving Association for professional SRT training at £30 per person per day. Laura will send out an email gauging interest and/or giving details for how individuals can book for themselves.

PYRENEES TRIP
The club plans a trip to the Pyrenees in early September this year. 

We are looking into getting a gite from Saturday, September 7th, until the 14th. This is near the main cave we will visit, Pierre St Martin. 'PSM' is a large cave on the French-Spanish border with a large main chamber big enough to fly a hot air balloon.  There are many other underground locations, including the French Government Underground Laboratory.

People are looking to share transport and go via the Plymouth Santander ferry, or alternatively, fly Bristol to Bilbao and hire a car. Obviously, people will need other places to stay before & after the gite, unless we can book for a nonstandard period. Let us know if you are interested, so we can finalise itinerary, accomodation etc.
